Default Try shad raps for a change of pace

Getting reports of some nice walleyes up feeding with the smallmouth bass and hitting shad raps on shorelines. It's not usually the best way to catch them up here, but can be a lot of fun when you're mixing in some smallie action.

Perch and walleye colour cranks have been effective patterns as well as the crayfish baits in natural orange/brown colour.

Often times, the walleyes that are caught this way are a good average size as well.

    Give it a try.

    Thumbs up I agree

I fish Walleyes more than anything else, as you know. I just stared casting shorelines, in the past three ior four years, during the last hour or two of light during my Summer trips. Every night that I cast for Smallies, I pick up one or two Walleyes while fishing. As you said, the average size is typically 2#to 4#. I get them on Rebel, Crayfish shaped lures in many different colors, Perch colored Shad raps and Crawdad colored Shad raps.
