    Default A few questions...

Coming up north from Oshkosh. Grew up in PF and used to go with my dad opening weekend in May with a group of big fat guys from Rat Lake

All we ever used back in the 80s were rapalas... I see weedless jigs are working as well. Any other suggestions? We are primarily fishing for walleye, but bass and panfish would be fine as well. To be honest, I fish in Winnebago and we've caught almost all sheepshead and catfish. The only guys catching walleye are running boards, trolling the mudflats and I just don't find enjoyment in that.

Coming in from Springstead landing... anyone know if I'll have issues finding a campsite north of Baraboo Lake? We are coming up Friday afternoon.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Friday afternoon could be a challenge this time of year.. but if you're having trouble finding a site, flag down the park ranger and he'll tell you which ones are still open to his knowledge. Well, at least Dennis always knew.. heck, he'd even help transport your stuff. Good guy.

well... on our way up. Haven't been on the water up there in 15 years. should be interesting. Hopefully we don't get carried away by lake flies. I also hope we catch some fish, so my friends make this trip an annual, bi-annual occasion.

Heading back up! Had a great time last year. No wally's that late, but had some good action from big smallies. I also managed a few snakes along the way. The best part of the trip was my buddy caught a nice musky, much bigger than he ever caught. (He still owes me a net). How are things looking? Sounds like the water is pretty low... still okay to run outta the Springstead Launch? Thanks for any help. I should be able to post some pictures from last summer in a bit.

After the first day, it went from almost 80 to mid 50s top if I remember... was right after a mayfly hatch. Boy, was it cold at night.

That is. Pink is the new black! Actually, the girlfriend went with, but we kept her at the campsite to cook.
