Went fishing on Mendota this past Sunday AM. Tried off governors island for a while and hooked into some smallies, white bass and rock bass. Also landed a couple small walleyes in 12-13 inch range....

Mendota has a great smallie population. Lauch in Warner Bay, and try off of Maple Bluff and Governors Island. Just like everyplace else.....when they're hungry, they will bite on anything. Live bait...

Waynes Automotive on Cottage Grove road is 100% ethonal free. There is also a bait store right around the corner (Harleys) by the Walgreens. Great minnows there. You can kill 2 birds with one stone...
