As of 4/28/18 there is 20" of ice. Top layer of 2" refrozen slush, then maybe 1" of water, then 17" of hard, solid ice. I used my hand auger to drill the hole, and it was work to get through it; the...

I think it's due to high water this year. If you want weeds, go over to Bonies Mound area!
Yesterday 12/27/15 there were still scattered areas of open water by Donner's Bay to Turtle/Bastine. Last night the open areas froze over. Ice is 3-4" and solid in other areas. Be very cautious,...
Friday, 11/27/15 - Entire area from Bastine/Turtle to West side of Big Island was open water. Friday night got down to 7 degrees and Sat. AM 11/28/15 the entire area was iced over. I have never seen...
I went into Trude this weekend, entering under the new bridge. The flowage is about full pool right now, 1571.5. I measured 6 feet deep in the channel under the bridge. In Trude the water gets...

I recall reading somewhere that there used to be very little movement of gamefish between Trude and the TFF proper, due to the shallow culvert that used to be there. (I don't know how this was...
Ice is going out. Lots of open water around shore. Some bays are ice-free. Remaining ice is black, 3" thick, honeycombed, and rotten. Ice will be out in a couple days. No loons yet. Saw a pair of...
Yes, it is troubling that the level isn't coming up very fast since they reduced to about 300 cfs. 300 is about the minimum they will go, and the fact it isn't coming up much means that not much must...
Discharge is low right now. 308 cfs IS LOW. The level is coming up.
As of 2-28-2015 it's 21.5" thick. Not alot of slush. Snow on top is firm. I snowshoe, so I don't know about snowmobile, ATV, and truck conditions, but I see alot of them out there.
I think your link is bad. Try this:

My last post in that thread was last weekend! Are you sure you are not looking at when the thread was started? Try opening the thread and scroll around....
There should be a sticky at the top of the forum called "Ice Conditions". I encourage everyone to use that thread, so we don't have a zillion ice threads running at the same time. thanks
As of 11-29-14, 6.5"
Maybe we should start worrying about flooding too! The flowage is coming up like crazy. It appears they opened the gates from 300 cfs to about 3000 cfs, but it's still coming up. yikes
I'll double post here, as nobody seems to like the Ice Conditions "sticky" thread. As of April 20 2014, 19" of ice out from shore. 17" near shore. Wow! 3 inches gone in 2 days! Careful out there!

Mr. Mauler:
Same thing happened to me. I just posted an ice report, and when I finished, I clicked "Post", and got some kind of an error from the forum software. I wasn't sure if the post really...
As of 4-18-2014 there was 22" of solid ice.
Drilled a hole yesterday, out a ways from shore. 22" of solid ice. There are shoreline areas that have exposed slush, but there's 22" of solid ice under the slush.
The maximum recorded daily outflow from the Turtle-Flambeau Dam was 3,440 cubic
feet per second (cfs), and occurred on two separate dates in 1939 and 1952.
As of 4-6-13 Ice was 24"
I don't have a snowmobile, but I think the snowmobile trails on the TFF are fine. There's maybe 2 feet of ice, covered a couple inches of slush, and maybe 6 inches of snow on top. Saw a couple of...
