I tried to buy it early, but he wasn't having it! Pete's was awful on saturday afternoon. I made sure to keep my mouth closed so I didn't end up eating a bug.
Boat looked like there was a bug orgy going on this weekend. Good thing those don't bite! I still feel all crawly. Caddis flies? That Stillwater you gave Matt Wirth is sweet!
Last fall my buddy had a lot of action on the Red October tubes. I always thought they looked stupid so I never tried them.
Phantom softail is a great bait but if I want to fish really shallow (1-3') try a Hellhound. Hellhounds seem to sink slower than a Phantom but you can always hold your rod tip higher with the...
Nice average size Ty. Did you guys get the epic rain/flood in June that we got in Superior area? That ruined it for us this year, washed away all the weeds. The Africa heat after that didn't help...
Wow, crazy stuff! I bet that 35 looked tiny after the big one. Sounds like the fish are really starting to move all over the region. New moon in 2 days. Hope you can get that fish to eat again!

I like the big Beckman Finsaver. I fish alone a lot and it's pretty easy to use. The biggest complaint most people make is with the finsaver net the hooks tangle in it and they can be a pain to get...
Congrats! I fished 5 hours yesterday morning until it started to rain up here. Skunk city, not a trace of action. I don't think a river is where I should be after all the rain we've had.
Surprising how many PB's are tigers on here!
After I lost the big one mentioned above, I did the same thing...hung my head a little, then called it a day. I might have made a few more casts...
50, 52, 52.5 here. I caught them all while trolling alone. Netting was a little crazy. Actually the biggest swam right into the net. None of those were on the Chip (43.5 is my biggest there). I...
I wouldn't intentionally target them before the season opens. But if you catch one and let it go while fishing for something else (by accident, not an excuse to try and catch a ski!) it's no big...
Congrats again Ty! The show was fun, good job on Drifter for keeping it all made in the U.S. !
The Creeptonite is a good hooking bait. I've caught a couple on it. The wings are thick enough that they don't get bent up from fish.
I've messed around with Pacemakers a bit, but always go back to the orig set up. Tried a cut 7/0 hook shaft from a Cowgirl for the clicker hook... it had a cool thunk, thunk, thunk...but I never...
Cool looking fish. Could it be a hybrid?
Thanks Ty! If you sell out that's fine too. I want one, but I'll live if they're gone.
I hope there are a few of those ltd Pacemakers left for the MN show!
I would guess a sub 30" class fish to be pretty young. 5 years should be closer to 33", at least where I fish.
Good numbers! Do you think the small fish are a result of the early spring last year? Maybe they had a better spawn than normal?
Looking forward to the year end recap.
Guys I know thought it was a tough year, I must have done something right and did pretty good. I think putting more hours in & fishing smarter was a big...
Yes I got it in my local waters. The pics are up at the Lake Superior Muskies Inc site. I lucked out on that one...better to be lucky than good right?
Got this 40" on a Creeptonite at sunset this evening. Not a giant, but super fun. It looks like I peed myself in these pics, not to worry...I don't get that excited.
I'm up to 3 Pacemaker fish...
Nice fish! I have to laugh because I had a lot of action (a 33" and some strikes and follows) on a Rough Runner on one of the small lakes and have thrown it a ton in the river with only one strike...
These dumb fish sure are weird. Yesterday morning I raised 5 fish on Pacemakers. One slashed at the bait, then followed halfway back. 2 followed all the way and then rocketed off at boatside. I...
