Please take note that our Leech Lake Muskies will arrive on November 8th and they should arrive at 9am at the Olin Launch on the south end of Lake Monona. When the 500 muskies arrive, the WDNR will measure, fin clip, and PIT tag each fish. This will take the WDNR a few hours to complete. Come out and watch or help. If you plan a going out and placing the fish into the lake please dress warm and bring a working life jacket that fits you.
All went well, not much wind and it warmed up nicely for the WDNR techs as they handled these fish to PIT tag them. The total was 501 tagged and we lost one that got caught in the valve of the stock truck. The fish had a 10.52 inch average length. We noted no gulls, but there was one juvenile loon in the area which we are sure he got a muskie meal or two. A huge thanks goes out to the WDNR's Scott, Kurt, Mike, Dave and Richard for doing that tagging. You might be able to pick up some more details on Outdoor Horizons Radio as both Gary Engberg and Tony Puccio were there as well. Now we have to wait for them to grow BIG!!!!
