ice conditions near the shop

Just wanted to let everyone know that we have been hearing the ice getting thicker by the hour. People have been saying there is: 7"to 8" on White Bear and Bald Eagle. 5" on the St. Croix near Bayport. 8" plus up in the Chisago area and most of all the smaller lakes have at least 8" on them. The only two that we suggest taking more caution on are Lake Elmo and Lake Phalen as they are deep clear lakes that. I would imagine that Phalen is very close though. Give us a call at the shop anytime for an up-to-date report on ice and fishing conditions.
We heard walleyes are starting to bite more regularily on White Bear. One guy came in and said he got 4 nice ones out there today.
