Crow Lake ice conditions and snow conditions

Well we finally got our sleds out of storage and we went out and checked out Crow Lake. I drilled holes every 100 yards, about three quarters of the way to the North Pass and the 5 1/2 inches was the thinnist and it was 7 1/2 to 8 inches over the 200 ft water. The ice looked scarey, black ice,but it was safe. We are expecting cold weather the next few days, we could use more snow to go over the portages.

Looking forward to seeing everyone, I am on my way out to do some fishing on LOTW.
