Game On....Bass Season Arrives at Mille Lacs
Bass season officially opened last weekend here in Minnesota. Saturday the weather was almost perfect and many anglers targeted Mr. smallmouth bass.
Here are a couple pics of Sunday's catch.
Lee Smith, Isle, with a nice northern pike caught while fishing for smallmouth bass.
Russ Carlson, Isle, with a solid 4 pound 4 oz smallie.
Easton Jacobson, Forrest Lake with a 21 3/4" 6 pound 6 oz smallmouth bass. This was Eastons personal best smallmouth bass. The fish was released back to the lake. His dad Shannon, plans on haveing a replica smb mounted.
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday mother nature wasnt so nice around the big pond, lots of rain and high winds. I cant remember the lake level being this high in several years.
Here's the score card:
Surface Water Temps: 54 degrees
Lake Level: 1253 and rising
Water Clearity/color: Stained Sandy tan color from winds stirring up the lake. Should clear in a few days once winds subside.
Lake bugs: This morning noticed the first lake bugs on the screen door. I think midges
