Ice fishing is around the corner

Well Deer season is well under way. It was a COLD opener with high winds. We were able to tag a couple deer so with some fresh venison in the freezer it will be time to start thinking ice fishing. With the high winds some of the bigger lakes remain open. Many of the smaller lakes have froze over. I have not been out or heard of anyone out yet. I will get out over thanksgiving and check a few lakes and post what I am seeing for conditions. Remember on early ice use extreme caution. ice condition change from lake to lake as well as from area to area on the same lake. I think winter is here to stay now so we just need some more cold and no snow for a week or to to get a good base of ice.
