Lakes Waubesa, Monona, and Mendota
Lake Waubesa – Scattered schools of Perch & Crappie and an occasional walleye have been biting around the Rock pile, Bible Camp and out from Christie’s. I found them in eighteen feet of water using horizontal jig/plastics for the panfish and medium sized blade bait.
Upper Mud Lake- Has been producing scattered schools of bluegills, crappies, an occasional bass and pike have been caught in just about any depth. I have been having the best luck along the weed lines using jig/plastics.
Lake Monona – Reports in from friends was that it is producing catches of bluegills and a few crappies in squaw bay, the triangle, and on the west end of Monona bay. Many smaller fish biting so a lot of sorting took place to find fish over 7 ½ inches.
Lake Mendota- Reports in of walking ice thick enough before this recent COLD SPELL. A few guys made their way out for some nice catches of perch off of Gov. Inland’s drop off.
