Very Good Opener

Season got off to a great start this year with great weather and active fish. I fished two of our area flowages over the weekend and caught limits of walleyes on both. No big fish but all nice 15" to 17" eaters. Some decent pike action to go along with the walleyes. All of our fish came on 1/16th ounce jigs tipped with fathead minnows in less than 10' of water. Had to move around quite a bit to find them but once located they were very willing to bite. I believe the spawn is pretty well over on the flowages but have heard reports from the bigger deeper lakes that spawning activity is still occurring. I haven't been targeting crappie but I've heard that they have been going pretty good. I hope to chase a few bass this week. It's nice to have a normal Spring for a change.
