Fishing Report August 7, 2010

Lake conditions: Water temps 74 to 78 degrees. Water Clearity: stained visibility 2 -4 feet. Algae Bloom: Bloom continues over most of lake. Bug Hatch...small midge hatch Tuesday/ Wednesday of last week....pretty heavy in some parts.

Fished with Nick Rudolf from Ohio. Fished the day after high winds,midge hatch and severe front. Fishing was slow first part of the day but as the day progressed the bite seemed to pick up. Couldnt get anything to go on topwater, but the tube and grub bite fished slow took several fish the largest going 4.25 lbs. Earlier in the week we took fish off rock humps in 5 to 12 feet of water on crankbaits. Found these humps by studying a LakeMaster Contour Pro Map on my computer at home. I was able to make a list of spots I wanted to try, enter the waypoints on my gps units on the boat and go fishing.....just that simple, a great tool for looking for new spots during the off season from the comfort of you computer chair!
