Ice fishing is kicking into high gear for another winter season, and the good news is this:

Now is a great time to be an ice-fishing enthusiast.

Comfort is part of it. Long gone are the days when ice fishing meant sitting on a bucket and freezing while waiting for a fish to bite.

Comfort and fancy gear and gadgets are good, of course, but catching fish — and preferably big fish — is the ultimate goal. And at no time in the past decade, perhaps, have there been more quality fishing opportunities for anglers who aren’t afraid to travel.
