Fantastic Walleye Fishing Opening Weekend

It's the best Walleye bite and the best average size Walleye we've seen in our twelve years here. A guest here right now says he's been fishing this chain of nine lakes for over 30 years and he says it's the best he's ever seen. Many anglers caught their six Walleye limit in an hour or two....and all six would be 17 1/2 to 19 1/2 inches. A very good average size compared to a few years ago. One angler caught nine Walleyes casting from the end of our docks. Six different guys caught at least one Walleye casting from our docks. I sampled three kinds of fried Walleye on Saturday. Great opening week guests that come back every year. Loons, ducks, eagles and nice 60 degree weather. What a Walleye Opener it was at Oak Haven!
