The fish have been really spread out. We are marking fish in open water and seeing a few fish in the shallows. The fish that are in the shallows are typically smaller with a few mid 40s mixed in. The shallow water fish that we have come in contact with have not been related to the emerging cabbage weeds. Spawning areas are still holding fish.
Small baits are a must for casting and the bigger baits have always caught fish trolling in the spring.
