Getting camp ready and walleye season open saturday

Hi Everyone,

Well we made it to camp during the first week of May as planned. Everything was in good shape for the season. So far we have made many trips to camp with groceries and other things to get up and running before our first guest shows up.

The water is really low on the lake right now, but we have had rain for the past week and the water has came up about 3 inches already. Another foot of water would be good.

The pike are shallow, orange #5 mepps seems to working good. It is one of my favorites for the early season pike fishing. Also with the water temp being in the low 50's, the crappies are holding close to where they spawn. Next week with the warm weather, they should move right in shallow and do there thing.

This saturday is opener for walleye so we will be doing alot more fishing and we will have some more fishing reports for you.
