Reports from the Cave 4-30-09

Water levels at Cave Run is 4 inches above summer pool with little pull, temps ranging from 58 to 63 at the days start. The water is murky in most areas but clearer in others. It still a mixed bag but many fish are moving on big rubber in shallow and deeper water, Bulldawgs, spinnerbaits, small bucktails, Medussa and large cranks like the Martha. Trolling has been very good in the 3 to 4 foot range with small cranks, don;t overlook trolling small bass baits. Trollers have been averaging 3 to 4 muskies per day but not a lot of size. The weeds have jumped up over a foot in the past couple of days. We have found bigger fish near the weed deep edge.
