Lowrance Question
Need some help. I sent back a HDS7 due to a malfunction and Lowrance replaced it with a HDS8. The transducer I have from the HDS7 fits and powers up the new unit, but the transducer that came with the HDS8 has a much larger head. My question is, if I use the old transducer will it effect the way the new unit operates. I don't want to drill more/new holes in my boat I dont have to. Thoughts???

Lowrance Question
Ross, I don't know the answer to your question, but I just bought an HDS7 in January. Would you mind telling me what your malfunction was so that I can be on the lookout for one with mine? Thanks--Bob

Bob: It appears water (believe it or not) got in side the unit. I got caught in a storm and after that the unit began acting eratically.
I was on the Musky Hunter website and found this thread from people with similar problems. When I approached Lowrance they told me to send it back.
