Green Bay Report June 13
Water Temps: 62-68 Degrees
Hours Fished: 8:30AM-9:00PM
Spent the day musky fishing the bay. Started out fishing south of Oconto down to Little Suamico fishing areas of cabbage weeds which are behind because of the cold spring we have had. Fished out on Geano's reef which was loaded with smallmouth bass and they were feeding heavily on may flies. Most of the other boats in these areas were trolling for walleyes. From there we made the big run across the bay to Little Sturgeon bay which had a little better weed growth because to the slightly warmer water temps. That was the only other place that we seen other musky anglers. Finally during early evening we made the run back across the bay towards Peshtigo to fish that area. Weather started changing at that time with pretty strong southeast winds and black clouds coming in. So we decided to skip fishing Peshtigo and make the run back to Oconto as we made the run down the west side of Green Bay the weather start to improve so we decided to troll a nice area of cabbage north of Oconto.
We spent the day trolling and casting for muskies with little to show for it but covered a lot of water. Best areas looked like Little Sturgeon Bay and north of Oconto. Smallmouth are all over the shallows right now but feeding heavily on may flies so I think the action should kick in pretty good for them the next couple of weeks.
