Tomahawk Fishing Report 3/28/2013
Ice conditions are good with up to 26 inches of ice, Snow is going down but still deep, some areas have lots of slush.
Bluegills are holding in 5 to 7 feet of water. Good action on the smaller lakes but some nice catches out of Lake Nokomis this week on Purple jigs with large waxies.
Perch, still not up in the shallows. Most catches are coming out of 10 to 12 feet of water, small fatheads or wigglers working best.
Crappie, few reports this week. Some action on lake Alice in the early morning hours on Rosies. Use your tip downs. Ive noticed that the crappies are within 1 to 2 feet below the ice.
Pike (Mohawksin and Wis. River only) Starting to move into the shallow bays. Suckers or shiners for bait.
Dam action, a few boats below Prides dam. Lots of action with the small males, a few keepers being caught Use small suckers or fatheads. No reports yet from Bradley Dam for the Perch.
Good Luck!
Dave
