Muskie action in the Eagle River area continues to improve, with good action
for mixed sizes of fish. The muskies are relating to weeds, with action
coming in 15 feet of water or less, depending on the lake. All day bite.
Smaller baits still producing best. Use a Mepps or a six inch Jake; and
some surface baits are starting to work as the water warms.

Walleye are in the weeds, in 15 feet of water or less in the Eagle River
area. Best bait remains a jig and a fathead, but, leeches and crawlers are
starting to work. Good to excellent all day bite, with some trophies mixed
in with smaller fish.

Very good action for northern in the Eagle River area. Fish ten feet of
water or less, along weed edges and in weed beds. Use a Husky Jerk in a
minnow or perch pattern, a bass style spinner bait, or a jig and an XL
fathead. Plenty of smaller fish, but some real nice ones are being caught,
as well.

Smallmouth bass are hitting aggressively in the Eagle River area. Fish five
to 15 feet of water, along break edges. Three to four in tubes, #3 Mepps,
or #8 X Raps are all working.

The crappie bite in the Eagle River area is increasingly strong. Fish ten
feet of water or less in and around weeds. Use a crappie minnow on a jig,
or under a slip bobber. Mini Mites are also producing. The crappies are at
varied depths, so work the entire water column, top to bottom. Some good
sized slabs are being reported.

Bluegills are putting on a furious bite in the Eagle River area. ANYTHING
will work! Fish five feet of water or less, along sandy or muddy bottoms.
Mixed bag of sizes, with some real nice bulls mixed in.

Perch in the Eagle River area are hanging with the walleyes, and providing
some strong action. Fish 15 feet of water or less in the weed growth. The
perch are hugging the bottom. Use a crappie minnow on a jig, or a chunk of
crawler. A lot of sorting will be needed, but some nice jumbos are in the
mix.
Good Luck to all.
