Walleye action in the Eagle River area is good to excellent, with a mixed
bag of sizes, including some trophies. Fish 15 feet of water or less in the
weeds. Use a one-sixteenth to one-eighth ounce jig, tipped with a fathead.

Northern are on a tear in the Eagle River area. Fish weed areas in 10 feet
of water or less. Use a small Mepps, Husky Jerk in a minnow or walleye
pattern, or a jig tipped with an XL fathead.

Perch are hitting well in the Eagle River area. Fish 15 feet of water or
less in the weeds. The perch are hugging the bottom. Use a one-sixteenth
ounce jig, tipped with a fathead.

Muskies in the Eagle River area are very scattered, with smaller fish being
seen shallower and larger fish hanging a bit deeper. The usual early season
cool water baits are still the ticket - -little bucktails, minnow baits etc.
What seems to change daily is the presentation of those baits. One day a
fast retrieve is the ticket, the next, a slowed down version, or even an
erratic presentation.

Smallies in the Eagle River area are putting on a good bite (all
catch-and-release and barbless hooks only). Fish 10 to 15 feet of water on
break edges. Use a three to four inch tube, a Senko rigged whacky style, or
an "extra deep" Mepps number three.

The crappie bite in the Eagle River is OK, and improving. Fish 15 feet of
water in the weeds. The crappie are holding "tight" to the weeds, and are
up-and-down the water column. Use a Cubby jig, or a crappie minnow under a
slip bobber.

Good luck to all
