Walleye limits are still being caught by anglers on the Det River. Numerous spots have been giving up fish on the N end of the river. Casino, Whiskey plant and Ambassadoe Park have been the hot spots. Most are using natural colored baits and jigs with the clear water conditons.
Plastics being used are Bio Bait minnow or ring worm in motor oil or pumkinseed.

Colchester is hosting the annual walleye derby June 13 with the longest walleye winning $1500. Walleyes are being caught on spoons, cranks and worm harnesses from Colchester to Leamington. I have been using harnesses and the Northland baitfish image blades have been working well for my boat.

Musky season is now open and things are still in the early stages. Some are still shallow and some deeper. There were a few 50" fish caught last wk, some were caught in the Det River and some on the lake by trollers.

Steelhead action out of Wheatley is just around the corner. I am hearing some reports of a few fish but the action start to pick up in the next few wks and continue until the Labor day wknd. If you are looking for some high flying action these are the fish to target!
