The weather has been cold and rainy but the fishing started to improve.
Wednesday I was fishing a shallow bay pitching an 1/8 oz. jig tipped with either a minnow or leach. The fish were in about 2 to 3 feet of water along the shore line. There was a mixed bag of, walleyes in the 19 to 23 inch range and northerns between 20 and 36 inches.
Yesterday the wind was heavy so I fished some of the points behind the island in 20 to 26 feet and found walleyes and smallmouth mixed together.
The walleye were a little smaller than the day before about 14 to 18 inches, and the smalleys were a nice bonus all about 14 to 16 inches.
There has been a few muskys caught this week. They are in the shallow water along with the walleyes and northerns. The biggest has been 49 inches with a couple of 40 inchers also.
