Been out doing a bunch of scouting for bass around the area. Water temps are still a bit cool to get them really going but am picking up a few here and there. Water conditions are quite good right now and as the temps come up the fishing will improve rapidly.
Remember that bass are all catch and release until mid June.

If you are interested in a guide trip for this unique experience give me a shout. Special rates and times apply.

Pete, starting next week, what are the prospects looking like for the river SM Bass?

School's out, and I don't think I've ever fished the river this early in the year - ever!

Good fishing.

thanks a lot!
andrew

ps - Might stop by in the shop next week to buy new rod/reel.

The only way to know for sure is to get out there.Could be good. When it's "on" you'll know it.

Oh, it was ON alright.

Both you and Matt should do floats down the river. You'd be amazed by the output of larger SM. Bass that can be caught.

Launched my 12ft with 6-horse motor further south of the Eagle with my buddy and we easily caught 40+ fish with 8 of them 17-inches or bigger. This was this past Wednesday when it was cold and cloudy. This was my first time floating it too and it was AWESOME. I'll be back at it again next week.

Even popped a Musky while targeting them too for about 30-casts total. Saw a couple of larger ones (mid-40's) chase the Smallmouth plastics that I had to get reeled in ASAP because I'd have no chance with 6 or 8lb line!
