Wow what about these temps, jeez you can icefish in tee shirts. Warm temps this week had anglers hitting the ice hard knowing that the ice season is coming to an end.

The ice conditions vary with most of the lakes in good shape with plenty of ice, but areas to watch are the shorelines. With the spirit filling up its just about impossible to get on. Willow Flowage is getting rough off the landings. Lake Alice is fine as of Thursday but becareful of the channel areas.

Crappies are very active nice catches with rosies and tip downs or jigging plastics like ratsos.
Some huge Perch out of Mohawksin this week with some anglers with Perch over 13 inches. Wigglers or small fatheads for bait fished in 4 feet of water.

Good Luck and Check the Ice as you head out.

How high is the water level in the Spirit? Is the ice breaking up?

Dave:

Noticed on the way down to the Miss. R. to fish this weekend the river under the I39 bridge on Mohawksin was pretty well open. How far down is that extending and any idea on when it may open up down to you???

The channel on Mohawksin is all open, the boat landing across the street from our shop is open. The bays are still froze over. The guys heading out icefishing are doing real good in the bays right now for pike and perch.

I know this is not a fishing question but here goes. How much snow is in the woods?

Not much all the rain did a number on it.
