There are always pike in the Spirit, however, unless it gets cold again you will find it difficult to get out there. The water level has come up quite a bit with all the warm weather. I would focus on a different body of water if I were you.

Spirit Flowage is closed for all gamefish untill May 2nd along with all the lakes in Wisconsin. You can fish the Wis River system for gamefish year round. (except Muskie)

How long do you think we will be able to go ice fishing up there. What are the reports for safe ice with all the warm weather we have experienced?

Thanks i was confused i thought you could fish but it was all catch and release. Is the water below the locks over by County E and price rd considered the Spirit or Wisconsin River? I would assume that would be part of the Wisconsin River.

The waters from below the Spirit Dam down to where it runs into the Wis River is closed also for gamefish. You can fish below Prides Dam all the way down river this includes Grandmothers and Grandfathers dams too. You can also fish all of Lake Mohawksin up to Kings Dam.
