Initially, I thought (if this is not a joke) perhaps this is a Zander (a Walleye cousin caught in Great Britain) which grow bigger than Walleye, but Zanders don't grow that big with a max of about 18 pounds!! (FYI: there has been some unsuccesful Zander stocking in the US and few have been caught-few know about it at all).

I (also) saw this article on Walleye Central and wonder if it's a joke? Of course, other species (Stripers, etc) have adapted to freshwater and some of them are quite large and doing well. Most species that have adapted do not reproduce in fresh water.

Of course, states keep records for the same type of fish as separate records for salt/freshwater.
