The crappie bite on local lakes has been so hot, I think the ice might melt. My son and I headed out this morning to check out the crappie bite and to check out some new lures that will be featured next fall by a major ice fishing manufacturer. Tipdowns and jigging both produced fish and within 1 1/2 we could have kept our limit of crappies. We had decided to release everything today so 50+ crappies are swimming to fight another day along with 1/2 dozen white bass and 1 frisky catfish. I enclosed a couple of pictures with fish. If anyone would like to see the tipdowns we built and our using just reply to the post and I will take some closeup pictures. Take a kid fishing.
