I know it depends on the reel that you want to replace the handle on but Ty when we fished together you had some Pfluger reels that you had replaced the handles on. What handles did you use as a replacment. Does anyone have a good source to buy replacement handles in a bigger size then what comes with most reels. Thanks

Try www.castawaylakes.com for Calcutta Power handles. Best price. Only $29.99 and easy to switch out.

Hopes this helps you out

I used the Calcutta B handles that I ordered from Thorne Bros. I had to grind down the opening to fit the pflueger reels. A dremmel tool worked good for that. There is no universal handle to fit every reel.

Thanks for the website Chuck and Snizz. I'm going to need an airator sooner or later for the pond in the backyard.

My old man did that for his pond in FL...he took a sump pump and put a PVP cap on it to turn it into a fountain, which maintained buoyancy by being attached to a lifesaver

...then ran an electrical line to the house which was connected to a switch...so he could have a fountain and aerate the pond...

I just sent some reels in for service and I'm having power handles put on a couple of them. I sent them to:

Dave's Reel Service
602 Avon Ct.
Vernon Hills, IL. 600061 847-549-7170

You can google them and get all info.

IllinoisRip, those were the best about 15 years ago. Now the Calcutta ones are much better.

Thanks for the advice from all. Just had a long conversation with Mark at Daves reel service in mount Vernon. Excellent advice. With all the reels I have he actually went through all of them with me over the phone and made suggestions for each. No pressure to change anything just made suggestions. In fact said too many guys think you need to change all your handles. But, he is getting an order from me for some of my reels. Great guy...great advice....try them....Rip
