There is hope for the BEP!
I had the pleasure to speak with John Baumann, a member of the Halder Sportsman Club and was pleasantly surprised to hear that John and other club members are responsible for up keep on the fence surrounding the aerator on the Big Eau Plaine. That’s right, the aerator is up and running thanks to the WVIC, The Mead Wildlife refuge and it’s manager Tom Meier. I haven’t had a chance to speak with Tom but it appears that they have taken over the funding to keep this fishery alive. I did some searching and found the link below that describes this cooperative project. I would encourage each and everyone of you that enjoys fishing on the BEP to thank these groups in any way possible. Better yet send an email to the groups below who made this possible.
