Fishing has been outstanding with limit catches of coho and big king salmon being taken regularly.

As we suspected, coho fishing accelerated into a normal, May-like pattern with often-times frantic flurries of action and an otherwise steady bite. We continue to catch many big kings too. Way more than normal catches of big kings are being taken for so early in the season. We think this king bite - which really began late last season - could easily continue all the way into August/September. So far we have taken at least a dozen or so kings of 17lbs with an 18lb'er boarded last week. Many kings in 12-15lb range have been already taken too.

As we move into summer which is more typically the time of year we catch most of our kings, we think the quantities and size of king salmon catch will easily surpass what our normal hauls are. We are excited at the prospect of tangling with lots of kings in excess of 20lbs in the near future with excellent possibilities of 30lb kings being taken in July and August. Plus, we could still be catching lots of coho still as well!

Attached are some photos of our recent catches. Please feel free to call/text me at 773.791.7990 or email me at windycitysalmon@gmail.com to check on the most up-to-date fishing conditions.
