All area lakes are forming up nicely with ice the past few weeks.! Walworth Counties’s Lake Geneva has ice cover with slower panfish fishing action in Geneva Bay all the way across to the narrows area. Delavan Lake has had 4 wheeler and snowmobile action all over. It seems some of the best panfish and northern pike action has been near the northern and southern ends of the lake with a few nice limits caught in recent days.
On the Madison Chain it seems that the Monona Bay action has slowed with most fisherman moving out in search of other fish. We have still had decent action there with a few nice limits while panfishing with a few nice bass mixed in. Lake Waubesa and Upper Mud Lake have also had some decent action. I have heard good reports from alot of my buddies they report Lake Mendota’s ice coverage has reached about 5"-9". They have been working along the University Shore Line along James Madison Park to down near the Union catching bluegill and northern pike.
