The bite has improved steadily as the surface water temperatures drop.

In the last five days, our guests have landed three first place fish in our Fishing Contest. We track nine different species. We score them by length, not weight.

Besides the 44 1/2 inch Muskie and the 20 inch Largemouth Bass that were landed a few days ago by guests in Cabin # 9....one of our guests staying in Cabin # 11 landed a huge 10 5/8 inch Bluegill. George LeMay and his friends were here from the Anamosa/Monticello, Iowa area. George asked me to measure this Monster Bluegill. At 10 5/8 inches, that's the biggest Bluegill I've seen in four years. He also landed a 10 1/4 inch Bluegill that same day. The guys enjoyed a nice pile of Bluegills plus some Walleye and Perch for their fish fry that night.

It's been quite a week with lots of different species landed in good sizes. We still have cabins available between now and October 2nd. Can you get away for a few days?

September is a wonderful month for a fishing trip. Turning leaves, cooling breeze, good fishing. Come see everything Oak Haven has to offer. If you can't get away in the next 2 weeks...Please consider staying with us next September.
