What fish is this?

Can anyone tell me what species of fish this is? Some type of trout?
It was found (and released after the picture was taken) in a stream/creek south of Madison.

Mottled Sculpin I believe.

He's is correct it is a Sculpin. We use to catch them under the rocks at our local stream - Black Earth Creek when we were kids.
