Being in the heart of musky country here in Minnesota , we are blessed with some of the best musky fishing anywhere. But there are a relatively small number of our lakes here that have muskies. Our DNR realizes this and they currently have proposals in to add 5 new musky waters beginning in 2011.

There is a lot of opposition to these proposals from those that are simply misinformed when it comes to muskies. Our DNR is seeking public input on these proposals from now until the end of September and your help would be greatly appreciated.

You can find information on what our DNR is looking to do with these lakes, including the complete proposals and links to several studies and answers to most questions people might have here.

You can send your emails to muskie.comments@state.mn.us to voice your support for all 5 of these proposals. Or you can also call Tim Goeman, Regional Fisheries Manager, at 218-999-7819.

Just make it simple and to the point. A message that simply states that you support the 5 proposals to add new musky waters in Minnesota with your name, where you’re from, and a phone number is really all that’s necessary. It doesn't matter where you're from. They're accepting input from everyone.

And as a thank you for reading this and helping out, I would like to extend a 10% discount to you on any and all orders that you place at Musky Tackle Online between now and September 17th. To receive the discount, enter SEPT17 in the promo code blank during the online checkout process. I will have to manually apply your discount after receiving the order. So it will not show in your shopping cart. But as long as this code is entered in the promo code blank, you will receive the discount. The discount applies to in stock items only.

Please feel free to forward this on to anyone you know that fishes for muskies or might be willing to help on this matter.

Thank you very much for helping Minnesota musky fisheries across the state and thank you for your support of Musky Tackle Online.

Sincerely,
Aaron Heimkes
