Hello everyone, this is Cathy from Aquatic Arts fishing Pro Shop with your Wednesday fishing minute update.

Along with the hot weather, the musky action is hot too! Several nice fish were registered this week up to 44 inches.Topwater and sub surface baits are still catching the most fish. For topwater, Jackpots and Topraiders have been woking great. As far as subsurface lures, use Pallbearers and Hell puppies. Good action has been in the morning and then again early afternoon. With the warmer water and high humidity focusing on your figure 8 near the boat is a must!!!

Walleyes on the flowages are doing very well early in the morning, gotta be out there before the sun rises. Fish the weed edges, 3 to 5 feet of water. Use 1/8 oz jigs with brown and orange twister tails. Mid day, fish the channel breaks with deep running crankbaits such as wally divers in an orange and black color pattern. You want any crankbait you use to dig into the bottom occasionally as you retrieve them, this adds extra flare and often excites the walleyes to hit!!

If you want to catch pike, get out there now!! Use a #13 floating Rapala along the weed edges in about 5 feet of water. Medium retrieves are working best so that the lure runs about 1 to 2 feet below the surface. Topwater has been effective too, but you need to slow down the retrieve and use erratic, fish stimulating twitches. Heddon Spooks and Topwater frogs have been hot! Nice pike up to 32 inches caught this week.

Bass have been hot after plastic tubes in garlic or coffee flavor.
Fish on and around the rock bars looking for wood structure. Work the tube jig close to the wood and rocks, as the bass are holding tight to the structure. A simple lift and drop method has been very effective, as the bass cannot resist the tubes scent trail.

Anglers are catching nice gills again this week, some of the area lakes are giving some very nice catches. With the calm weather the lakes are as smooth as glass and the perfect time to use poppers or flies to catch these tasty fish. Cast into weed pockets and around boat docks, 4-8ft of water.

Well, thats all for today, this has been your weekly fishing update with catch em cathy.

Bass up the river from the A bridge, use crankbaits or tubes. Lots of Pike like Cathy said on big Rapalas. Guys are coming in the shop with good reports on the gills again.
Good Luck when you go!
