To start out, there has been a slow no wake ordinance issued for Squaw Bay only, on Lake Monona effective today, Friday, 6/18/10. Bluegills continue to be in the spawning mode, & very active in 0-5' of water. Some areas to look are Hudson Park, Schleuter Beach area, Wyldehaven, Squaw Bay & Turville Bay. Musky action has been picking up with some active fish after dark on Topwater baits, & a few fish biting during the day on some Bucktails. Lake Waubesa Bluegills have been continuing to spawn, & there also has been some action on the outside weed edges. Musky action on Waubesa has been similar to Monona. Lake Mendota Smallmouth Bass have been showing up in larger numbers on the bars, but the bite has been finicky lately. Catfish continue to show up in several areas around the lake. Cutbait and stinkbait have both been producing equally well. We have not received any Perch reports as of yet, but as soon as we get consistent hot weather back, things should start to pick up!
