We enjoyed a decent week of weather and light winds. Kakagi (Crow) Lake is reporting 60 degree water in most places. Lake of the Woods is often in the 70 degree surface water temperatures.

Some nice Walleye being caught, another 29" Walleye was found today! Walleye bite seems to be bouncing between smaller fish for a couple days and then a few days of better fish.

Bass are starting to appear in some of the spawning areas, so we should be getting ready for great weeks of Catch and Release Bass fishing.

Northern Pike have been up and down in Steven's Bay area. South end of Whitefish Bay has been good Pike action along with Cedartree Lake. Several Pike in the low to mid 30" range this past week.

Crappie are still being found in Steven's Bay, but best bite is changing to late evening.

Lake Trout seem to slowly be working their way toward the summer holes, but still taking a few out of 30' waters. Best Lake Trout for the week was a 12 pound Laker caught by a guest just learning to jig for the Lake Trout.

Muskie are being seen shallow and often, by other fishing groups on both Lake of the Woods and Kakagi. Muskie Opener is just a couple weeks away.

A few Jumbo Perch still being found on Lake of the Woods.

For the week the fishing was so-so action, some days seems like they are just getting going, then weather changes a little and slows the bite. I think we are due for a great bite soon.

Lodge Project is progressing... rains are still coming just a little too often for making fast progress in the clay. 1/2 the concrete is now poured and looking like rain will delay the other 1/2 until late this week. Our temporary Kitchen/Dinning room and office are about 90% complete - functional by Friday :-)

Regards,
