Weather was up and down again this week with some rain and wind to start the weekend, followed by two great days (wed/thur) before some rain to end the week.

Fishing was decent on the tough weather days and excellent on the good weather days. Walleyes of 25.5", 27", 27", 29", 29" and 29.5" were caught and released this week. The majority of the better fish were caught in deeper water...25 feet and deeper, but some reports of some fish in the 9-10 foot range came in later in the week.

Minnows and leeches were much more effective than crawlers again this week and we'll have those two bait choices available for you here at the resort as always.

There was some good northern activity this week as well. Two fish over 40 inches were caught and realease (40.5" and 41") and small ones were plenty in the right areas (Burrow Bay in particular was hot for one group.)

A couple more muskies were caught as well and although it's hard to resist throwing for them when they are active and following baits in the spring, you cannot target a muskie during the closed season. Any fish accidentally hooked should be handled with the utmost care because they are likey coming off spawn or between egg layings.

Also, please keep in mind that livewells are not meant to handle large trophy class fish and should not be utilized as a holding tank to keep a fish until your friends come back to see it. If you want to release a fish, you need to get it back in the water ASAP. Take some photos and/or some video that will give you a chance to relive the experience forever and you'll feel good about getting that fish back in the water to grow bigger for your next encounter.

I'll have some May photos posted on the website soon. Sorry for the delay in getting the results of your hard work on the lake on display!
