Today was my first day of walleye fishing. It went very well, I found lots of nice eyes on the points in both of our bays. They were in 16 to 26 ft. of water and all came on 1/8 oz. jigs tipped with either minnow or leach.
They ranged in size from 16 to 23 inches.
Some of the guests that have been in camp the last week have been casting spinner baits and rattle traps for bass and northern pike. The bass are on the beds with temp in the back water areas near 65 degrees.
The water temp out in the main lake is 59. The lake level is about 2 to 3 ft. below normal for this time of year. The lower lake level does not seem to be having any effect on the fishing.
