Looks like we are in for a few days of great weather... some 70 degree weather is supposed to stick around for a while. Kakagi (Crow) Lake is mosly in the upper 40's but likely to start reaching 50 very soon.

Lake Trout were biting - a few caught bank fishing, some trolling, some casting near reefs and jigging also worked well. The ups and downs of the weather have had the Lake Trout moving around. If not being found shallow, they are usually around the nearest 80 - 90 foot holes. A few 9 and 10 pound Lake Trout caught and the average Lake Trout seemed to be near 5 pounds this week. We saw periods of Lake Trout almost jumping in the boat and other periods of being hard to find. For the week, I had sampled some pan fried Lake Trout, some smoked Lake Trout and Cedar plank grilled Lake Trout - very good tasting.

Bass - seems like more and more bass being caught on accident each week.

Northern Pike - the occasional nice Pike was caught, but no one targetting them yet.

Walleye opener this past weekend - one boat tried late yesterday and then again this morning. It was their first time trying the Walleye opener and they caught limits of eating sized Walleye.

In the weeks ahead we will start seeing groups after Crappie, Northern Pike, Walleye and Lake Trout.

Regards,
