Finally some great news from the weatherman. This weekend is supposed to be sunny with a few clouds, no rain and reasonable winds. We are getting reports of the walleyes coming back into the weeds in force after getting shut down by intense cold fronts.

If you can get up to Eagle River for fishing this weekend it should be good. Extra large fatheads on a 1/16 oz. jig, or a slip bobber setup should do the trick for you. Remember move your boat often, when the bite stops, go look for new weeds.

There will be a smorgasbord of fish in the weed beds. Crappies, perch, northern pike and walleye will all be feeding in the weeds, especially if the sun comes out and warms them up. All the fish can be taken on fatheads with a jig or slip bobber. This is the easiest time of the year to catch numbers of fish, so don't miss it!

Mark Rottier and I will be teaching are Weeds N' Walleye School beginning on Saturday to Tuesday. We will be on the Eagle River Chain on one of the days.

Guides Choice will be open at 7 am on Friday and 6 am on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Good Luck on the water,

"Ranger" Rick
