ice is out in our area on most smaller/med sized lakes with the bigger lakes all but out just some black slush floating around the main basins and with the wind and 50-60 degree days it is all but over. next 14 days projected extended temps into the 60-70's. locals are already fishing open water in boats for walleyes till april 15 then it will be just bass,pike and trout.
with the early ice out,warm sunny weather,at this point a bit low water levels which will warm quickly late may and june will be awesome this season with activley feeding fish on shoreline/island points,newly emerging weed growth which will get a great jump start this season,and timber.
late may will be like june and mid june will be like july.
4 years ago when we had these conditions it was one of the best early summer fishing seasons in years. and with the walleye/bass pop explosions in recent years it will be even better yet.
we still got openings may 22-29, may 29-june 5, june 5-12,and 12-19,even 1 left for musky opener june 19 all which will be awesome dates and some great specials running from 639.00 on up depending on pkg and amenities.
