I am coming to Musky fish on Star Lake for the first time in early summer. We usually fish Ballard, but for a change we are going to try Star Lake. Any tips on colors to use or locations to try? We will be there in early June.

Thanks

Hi
Sorry it took so long to reply. If your going to fish musky out here try using bright colors,Firetiger has always been one of my favorites. Cranks work well out here as this is a rock oriented water. I also like Suicks that time of year my hot orange with black spots has always been deadly. Hope this helps and good luck. Jeff

I'm heading up at the end of the month; how did you do on Star?

I fished star lake for eight hours. Nothing. I noticed a complete lack of vegetation. 1000s of rusty crayfish. Sadly, I think this lack has seen it's day. Someday when the crayfish die off, the lake will come back. So sad. Such a beautiful lake. Rusty crayfish originated from Illinois and Iowa.
