I had the chance to visit with Jay Petroske on Saturday at FISH University. Jay was there promoting and selling his new tipdowns. Handmade from Cherry, they work with both the traditional tipdown rod/reel and your spinning ice rod/reel. With a couple of free hours available in the afternoon, I hurried out to the ice to give them a try. Needless to say, they worked great. While other people around me were missing fish with the traditional tipdowns, I caught fish after fish. I especially like seeing the rod tip move gently with the little breeze that was on the lake. Even thought the ice fishing season is drawing to a close, give Jay a call and he can set you up with some of these great tipdowns.
