Fisherman have been out on the ice these past 5 days with 3-4 inches in the bays on most area lakes. The Spirit was the earliest fished along with Lake Alice and the bays here on Lake Mohawksin.
The winds blew most if not all of the snow off from the ice so the ice conditions were not bothered.
We have had alot of reports of Northerns being caught along with some nice fat early-ice Walleyes near the weeds in the bays. Walleye suckers and Medium shiners are the hot minnows this time of year.
If we keep receiving the cold temps as is expected, we can look forward to venturing out further on the ice!!!!
