Bemidji and Plantagenette have been pretty tough lately.
We have been concentrating on the really small lakes and also Cass. If we have 3-4 days of warm weather then the smaller lakes like Little Wolf and Elk have been the ones to hit. The larger lakes are not affected as much as the smaller lakes when we get a warm spell. The water temp on Bemidji and Plantan is holding at 68-69 degrees. It never reached above 72 this year and I think the colder water temps have kept alot of the fish out over deep water the entire season.

We have done alot of lake hopping this year which has helped to put fish in the boat for us. If we are not moving fish during a peak time then it is time to move. Some guides camped on one lake all summer and only boated a handful of fish.

A blade bite never established with much consistency this year. We did well on blades when the water temps reached 73 on the smaller lakes during the first initial warm up at the end of June. This was a three day period where we enjoyed some excellent night fishing. During the last few weeks blades have put only a few fish in the boat.

Recently, topwaters have had the most action with plastics like Curly Sues and Bulldawgs coming in a close second.
