The weather has left us scratching our heads - one wonderful day, one ok day and then a cold front, has been the weather pattern recently. The weather has made the fishing more of a challenge, especially the new guests on short stays who have been working hard to learn the fishing on these lakes. Overall the guests did pretty good and everyone had a good time.

Kakagi (Crow) Lake water temps running mid to low 60's depending on the weather. LOTW generally a few degree warmer and approaching 70 degrees at times.

Using a slightly different format this week because so many kids did such a great job fishing and learning from parents and especially those grandparents.

Jack - age 7 - 4+ pound walleye - LOTW
Hank - age 11 - 5 pound walleye - LOTW
Cal - age 15 - 5.5 pound walleye - LOTW
Alex - age 17 - a couple 5 pound walleyes - LOTW
Mitchell - age 9 - 27" walleye - LOTW
Mary - age 15 - several small walleye - LOTW
Josh - age 21 - 2x 28" walleye - LOTW

Nathan - age 5 - 2 pound smallmouth - Kakagi (our dock)
Katie - age 12 - 2 pound smallmouth - Kakagi

Matt - age 8 - 5" perch - Kakagi (our dock)
Drake - age 7 - 5" perch - Kakagi (our dock)
note : I think it was a small fish competition on the dock :)

Hank - age 11 - 8 pound lake trout - Kakagi
Josh - age 21 - 12 pound 14 once lake trout - Kakagi (biggest of our season)

Jim - age 82 - 34" northern pike - LOTW
Bill - age 5x - 34" northern pike - Cedartree

Nathan - age 12 - 36" muskie - Kakagi
Rick - age 5x - 48" muskie - Kakagi

Jean - age (withheld) - 3 lake trout - Kakagi (during two brief outings on the lake). Being Jean's personal fishing guide, I kept reminding her about how much work the guide does to help make the fishing successful - she still didn't leave me a tip :-)

It was a fun a week and most every one had a full limit of smiles. It really doesn't get much better then a week with lots of young guests running around camp with huge smiles on their faces after catching some very impressive fish!

Wonder what these guests (and Jean) would have done if we didn't have a weather change every day.

The parents, grandparents they all caught fish also, but it was a good week for the kids.

Regards,
